Unfortunately, the Russian honor guards use SKS designed by Simonov. Similar situation happened at Kalashnikov's funeral as well.

Seems like somone again made a mistake that gives firearms enthusiasts a good laugh. Whoever made the monument included Stg-44 diagram instead of an AK. Ouch
