USMC experimenting with rifles
US Marine Corp is experimenting several things and here are the most notable ones that hit the news recently
M27 trial: USMC adopted M27 IAR to have a bit more commonality between guns and lighter 5.56 machine gun. The new news is that 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines have been training with these as a part of pre-deployment excercise.
Some of draw backs mentioned in the article is the tendency to expend more ammunition and the cost of the rifle itself.
http://www.military.com/daily-news/2016/11/18/marine-corps-experimenting-new-service-rifle.html
Silencers for whole Battalion: 2nd Division is running a trial where they will put silencer on every rifle, from M4 to M2 .50 cal. This is to see if silencers can help with better communication with lower sound signature.

MAC uploaded the very first public review of this pistol. It seems like CZ got their minds together and decided to seriously catch up with what market wants.
It seems like CZ learned their mistakes from CZ-100 and incorporated updated features. Also, the rails inside the frame are gone. With C designation, it seems like there will be a full-size version sometime in the future.

Youtube demonetizing Royal Nonesuch videos
Royal Nonesuch posted that Youtube started to demonetize his video due to South Korean government banning his videos.
In October, a Korean killed a responding officer with a homemade gun. Korean laws were strengthened earlier this year and any information that shows how to build a firearm are getting banned. The incident only accelerated the move.
What is unsettling is that Youtube is penalizing videos that are perfectly legal in US. Instead of blocking the video from a region, which Youtube seems to be capable of. They are penalizing certain contents, which won't have a big backlash as outright banning it.
Additionally, Mark Serbu (of Serbu Firearms) is getting similar treatment.

IPSC ranking
IPSC started in US, but can be found in other countries as well. US has USPSA, while IPSC is the predominant outside of US and it envelopes all IPSC groups. There are some diffeence between USPSA and IPSC rules so it's hard to compare one-to-one, but IPSC decided to see who ranks where by using the number of points actually achieved by a competitor at an IPSC Handgun World Shoot multiplied by 100 and divided by the total points available.

Some would complain about buttons on the top, but it seems like there were more complaints regarding lack of button than not.
El Empresario is a new addition to Tejas gun belt line more suitable for dress. The originals were a bit bigger for dress pants so Magpul listened and worked on it.

Onward VR
This virtual reality game was released in late August as an alpha version. Ian and Karl from InRangeTv gave it a shot
Link: store.steampowered.com/app/496240/
It uses HTC Vive and controller to control movements. Suuposedly, developers have military background. This would be the first commercially available VR game. Military has a more sophisticated machine made by Ratheon called VIRT SIM, but it really isn't for an average person.

The Wall Gun
C&Rsenal shows how The Wall Gun looks like when it is fired.
The Wall Gun was used as a weapon for defending a fort. It could be mounted on a rampart/wall with a cradle and swivel. It can also be fielded using a support or a bipod.
This is not a punt gun as it has a mount and is shorter.

Stormtrooper tries USPSA
Considering that the last week was Halloween, someone probably played while disguised. This time, it's CarRacerGVR4 from Minnesota.
He was supposedly using a laser to aim, though
There is a vieo of him shooting a different match(indoors) using what looks like a Sterling, making it more realistic.

Springfield Armory's SAINT
Springfield Armory is jumping in to AR market with SAINT. This is an interesting development since 30 years or so ago, Springfield Armory was sued by Colt for attempting to make ARs by buying Daewoo's parts. There is not reliable source of the agreement they reached up on, but one thing that stands out from The Firearm Blog's article is abundance of BCM related things.
Part 1:
http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2016/10/31/revealing-the-springfield-armory-saint-part-1-of-3-event-coverage/
Price is $849(MSRP) so it will be quite competitive.

1911 vs 1911A1
Hickok45 goes over the difference between the two.
There are several different points, but the most prominent four are
1. Main spring housing is arched in 1911A1
2. area just behind trigger is cut in the 1911A1
3. trigger is shortened on the 1911A1
4. longer grip safety tang on the 1911A1
Here's another detailed explanation from M1911.org
