Armalite is now owned by SAC(Strategic Armory Corp). SAC also owns Surgeon rifles, AWC silencers. It will be interesting how this integration will play out.

New USMC Combat Pistol Program

US Marines are going too implement the new pistol program at the end of 2014, but several Commands are already transitioning to the new program. This will replace Entry Level Pistol Program.

It uses a new target, and is faster paced. According to the Marine Corps Times, isosceles stance is used and discouraged from leaning forward while shooting. It also shoots from 7, 15, and 25 yards.

ATF wants to change SBR/SBS form

Guns.com reports that ATF wants to streamline the process and change Form 5320.1. ATF opened a public comment period until 9/20. According to the article, ATF wants to allow electronic payments for transfer tax, and change the size of form.

H&K in financial trouble

According to German paper Die Welt, H&K is going through a rough patch.

They had big losses in 2011 and 2012. They are 199 million EU in debt, and are barely paying the interest on their debt. However they have a future contract that will bring in revenues.

Some other things in the article(translated by Zhukov from AR15.com)
Annual revenue is 202.7 million EU
They have Bundeswehr contract for MG5s worth 140 million EU(12700 units)
Their bond is classified as junk by Moody's
Profits are just enough to pay 28 million interest on the bonds
80% of their profit come from overseas, mostly US and UK

Biohazard: The Real attraction

Kotaku has an article on a new attraction for Universal Studios Japan in Osaka. It's names Biohazard: The Real and visitors can shoot their way through the attraction using a 30 round Glock 18 laser gun. It takes about 5-10 minutes to go through.









This attraction will be open until Nov. 10th. It is for ages 12 or over.

Atlanta PD switches to Glock

Atlanta PD used S&W pistols for a long time(since 1940s), but now they have switched to Glock. Patrolmen will get Glock 22 Gen4 and SWAT will get Glock 21 Gen4. There are plenty of discussions going on including the choice was for local economy, S&W dropped the ball on this one, to Glock really under-bidding.
