Lindsay McCrum published a photo book of female firearm afficionados. There are 15 to 20 million female shooters and the book wants to serve itself as an introduction.
McCrum selected 80 shots. She says this is not about politics, but about trying to 'harness the visceral power of photography to provide a more rounded, honest picture of what women gun owners look like today.'

Barrett MRAD review on Shooting Illustrated
Shooting Illustrated has a detailed review of Barrett MRAD. This rifle seems to be an effective competitor for military weapon market. Chambered in .338 Lapua Mag, it has detachable 10 round magazine, 24.5 inch barrel, 1.75 lbs trigger, weighing just under 15 lbs.
On top of that, there are plans for other calibers, without the need for armorer support to change between calibers.
With Lapua 300-grain Scenar, it measured 0.59 MOA.
Price(MSRP) will be $6000

Century International Arms Centurion UC-9 carbine review
Shooting Illustrated has a review of Century International Arms UC-9 carbine. It looks like an Uzi from outside, but internal mechanism has been redesigned so it can only be fired in semi-auto, and shoots from a closed bolt.
Due to internal redesign, field stripping may be a bit more complicated than the original Uzi, but at the price of $750, it is nothing compared to a real pre-86 Uzi.

1911 maintenance tips
Shooting Illustrated has a good article about maintaining your 1911s. This article was again written by Sheriff Jim Wilson who wrote the defense holster article below.
Some tips:
Cotton swabs are good ideas
Every 1000 rounds, you should replace recoil spring, clean firing pin and extractor
A few drops of lubrication, not too little, not too much
Magazines are a plenty, so replace those that do not work.
